Right around the time I started writting Stories, I also got my first computer. It was an Atari 800. Laugh all you want, but at the time it was a powerful machine. It could play games, program in BASIC, simple word processing, and allow for other programs. Yeah, I played games, but when I tired of those, I would write and program. Atari BASIC was not to far from the BASIC I use today.

Since that time, I have programmed in TI BASIC, Apple BASIC, Mac BASIC, GWBasic, QBasic, and finally Visual Basic.

Below are some of my old code, they chronicle my journey to where I am now. Some of them are very bad coding from inexperience. Others are better coding and some are current coding, not necesarily good coding. I will have an archives page with previous versions of current programs.

If you choose to download the .exe versions of the files. You will need the InstallFile.zip to setup the files needed to run the programs. The rest of the files are for viewing and learning from (Try not to make the same mistakes I did).

The Programs
Name Description

Install.zip This is the big daddy of all the files at around 5M. It doesn't fit on a floppy. This is the one that you need to run the "Exe" files. Download, unzip it and run Setup to install the files.
FlashCards.exe This is my most current program. I created it on a whim. Dad said he wanted a program that would do multiplication flash cards. Here's the results. I modify it from time to time. This is Version 3.
StoryMaker6.exe This is one of my driving projects. It is a "Choose Your Own Adventure" creator. It can even do simplistic Game functions. Future Versions will allow graphics, custom layouts, and other features.

StoryReader6.exe

StoryReader6_2.exe

This "reads" & displays the pages for Story Maker. This was once merged together with Story Maker, but it makes more sense to separate them.

6.2 is the newest version that allows you to see the pictures that go with the story (if there are any).
